The Hunter Inn Experience

The Hunter Inn experience is about relaxing and having fun every day. Your morning will begin with a hearty and tasty complementary buffet breakfast served in our dining room. After breakfast, if you’re a skier, you can head for the renowned Hunter Mountain, which is less than a mile away, or Windham Mountain, which is only 7 miles away. If you’re a hiker, there are hundreds of miles of hiking trails—from easy to challenging—scattered throughout the Catskills. In season, golf and fly-fishing are options and tubing the local rivers is a special treat.

For the less ambitious, there are beautiful vistas that can be accessed by car and a short walk, historical sites within easy driving distance and quaint villages, such as Hunter, Tannersville, Hudson, Woodstock and Red Hook. And with the rising popularity of the Catskills, you might even bump into a famous actor, writer or musician while strolling through Woodstock, which is famous for its art galleries, or Hudson, which has more than 65 antique stores.

The activities for families are equally varied, from those mentioned above to biking, horse-back riding, go-carting, climbing fire towers, shooting skeet, riding trains, miniature golf and attending special events that include parades, musical presentations, and stage shows. Interesting day trips include the Baseball Hall of Fame, the Catskill Game Farm and Howe Caverns are also popular attractions for the entire family.

You can end your day with a visit to our lounge, a dinner at one of the fine local restaurants, a dip in the hot tub, a casual game of pool, or basking in front of the fireplace in the Great Room.
